Several major companies are announcing Thursday morning that they plan to boost employee pay and bonuses in wake of federal tax law changes.

According to the Washington Post, 20 of the largest companies in the Fortune 500 are admitting some of the extra money saved from the tax break will likely go to shareholders via higher dividends.

Other popular plans include buying and paying down debt.

So far only two companies AT&T and CVS have made explicit promises to hire workers.

Apple and Kroger executives have made vague statements that they would probably hire more people.  But so far, only a few companies have gone on records, promising to raise wages.

Bossier City based Congressman Mike Johnson spoke with KTBS 3 First News this morning about the changes ahead.
