U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) released the following statement on House Democrats’ passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

“For decades, the NDAA has been a bipartisan package that funds the Department of Defense in support of our men and women in uniform. Unfortunately, Democrats in the House bucked that long-standing precedent and created a partisan bill that promotes a leftist agenda. Instead of providing necessary resources, this bill hamstrings our military’s ability to provide a strong national defense. Democrats are holding our military hostage to score political points with their base, and it is unacceptable. Bases like Barksdale and Fort Polk, JRTC deserve the resources necessary to preserve our critical national security interests around the world.”
