Johnson Announces $240,390 is Headed to Desoto Regional Health System for Covid-19 Telehealth

BOSSIER CITY, La. – U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04), a member of President Trump’s Task Force for Reopening America, today announced DeSoto Regional Health System in Mansfield is receiving $240,390 from the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) COVID-19 Telehealth Program, authorized under the CARES Act. The award will go towards a telemetry video system, tablets, desktop computers, and connected telemedicine devices to support treatments, screenings, and follow-ups for COVID-19 patients without having to enter their room.

“It’s great to see an innovative health care investment being made to help our rural community here in northwest Louisiana. This award will aid in limiting our health care professionals’ exposure to COVID-19, all while still giving patients the treatment they need. I want to thank the Trump administration and the FCC for thinking out-of-the-box in finding ways we can treat COVID-19 patients and limit the spread within our communities.”
