WASHINGTON, March 14, 2022 — United States Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today announced that the City of Shreveport will receive a $1,948,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to modernize the city’s bus fleet and build new bus facilities with an emphasis on low or no emission vehicles.

“The nearly $2 million in federal grant funding will be a welcome sight for the City of Shreveport’s bus fleet,” Johnson said. “I’m grateful for this investment in our transportation infrastructure which will help Shreveport to better serve its communities.”

Background: This grant was made possible through the FY2021 Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program, which makes federal resources available to states and direct recipients to replace, rehabilitate and purchase buses and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities.
