WASHINGTON, April 22, 2022 — United States Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) submitted a community project funding request for Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center:

Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center — Construction of a new Joint Operations Center

Recipient: Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center, Department of the Army

Requested Amount: $61 million

Explanation of Request: This project will dramatically improve the training environment at Fort Polk. The current Joint Operations Center (JOC) was originally constructed in 1967 as a classroom, and it is insufficient to meet the Army’s training requirements. A new JOC will provide a state of the art training environment for our soldiers so they will be better equipped to respond to current day threats.
