WASHINGTON, April 22, 2022 — United States Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) submitted a community project funding request for Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center: Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center — Construction of a new Joint Operations Center Recipient: Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center, Department of the Army Recipient Address: 7033 Magnolia Drive, Building 4919, Fort Polk South, LA 71459 Requested Amount: $61 million Explanation of Request: This project will dramatically improve the training environment at Fort Polk. The current Joint Operations Center (JOC) was originally constructed in 1967 as a classroom, and it is insufficient to meet the Army’s training requirements. A new JOC will provide a state of the art training environment for our soldiers so they will be better equipped to respond to current day threats. Congressman Johnson serves on the House Armed Services Committee and his congressional district includes Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center. |
