Johnson Honors Congressional Art Competition Winners, Community Leaders

BOSSIER CITY, LA — United States Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today honored both the winners of this year’s Congressional Art Competition and recipients of the Congressional Commendation for Community Service at a ceremony in Bossier.

The Congressional Art Competition is a nationwide, visual art contest for high school students, where one piece of artwork from each congressional district is chosen by a panel of judges to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building. The second, third, fourth, and fifth place selections will be proudly displayed in Congressman Johnson’s congressional offices.

Congressional Commendation recipients were submitted for consideration by constituents of the 4th District and chosen for their efforts to better the community around them.

Art Competition Winners:

  • 1st Place: Kyle Lejeune, Vernon Parish
  • 2nd Place: McKenzie Guy, Vernon Parish
  • 3rd Place: Shaniyah Webb, Claiborne Parish
  • 4th Place: Macie Campbell, Evangeline Parish
  • 5th Place: Amaris Torres, Vernon Parish

Congressional Commendation for Community Service Recipients:

  • Jeff Warren, Dream Hunt Foundation, Desoto Parish
  • Mary Cross, New Step Outreach, Beauregard Parish
