Johnson Presses AG Garland Over His Involvement in Hunter Biden Investigation

Garland said he didn’t “recollect the answer” when asked if he’d had personal contact with anyone at the FBI about the Hunter Biden investigation

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, U.S. Representative Mike Johnson questioned Attorney General Merrick Garland over his alleged involvement in Special Counsel David Weiss’ investigation into Hunter Biden during a House Judiciary Committee hearing concerning oversight of the Department of Justice.

Johnson asked Garland, under oath,  if he’d “talked to anyone at FBI Headquarters about the Hunter Biden investigation?" Garland said, "I don't recollect the answer to that."

Johnson went on to ask Garland if he had any discussions with Special Counsel Weiss about the Hunter Biden investigation. Garland said, “Under oath, my testimony today is, I promised the Senate that I would not intrude in the investigation. I do not intend to discuss internal Justice Department deliberations, whether or not I had them.”
