BOSSIER CITY, La. - Speaker of the House Mike Johnson visited his hometown of Shreveport-Bossier Friday and included a stop at Barksdale Air Force Base where he visited with airmen and their families.

Those who attended asked Johnson important questions related to Air Force funding and military raises. 

One military spouse also asked Johnson about childcare for military families. She said it was nice having Johnson listen to their concerns. 

"It's really nice for, I think, the military families as well as the military service members to hear from representatives who do support the mission that is happening here, but of course, across the country as well," said Madison Cales, a military spouse.

Military families also asked Johnson about crime in Shreveport and Bossier City.

Johnson did not address the media during this visit.
