Group aims to keep God in government

BOSSIER CITY - On Sunday, A non-partisan, non-denominational, and non-profit organization is trying to keep God in government.

Onward Christian Education Services held an event called Answers for Our Times. It was held at First Bossier Baptist Church from 4 p.m - 9 p.m.

Speakers talked about how the bible relates to the government and american culture.

It was hosted by Congressman Mike Johnson and Tony Perkins. Perkins is the president of the Family Research Council, or FRC, in Washington D.C.

Perkins says their goal is to educate everyone about issues that affect the nation from a biblical standpoint.

"We have a great opportunity to fix some of these problems and to do that, I think there's an understanding that as Christians we have and responsibility to be involved in our government," Perkins said.

We also talked Congressman Johnson who says he and Perkins be traveling all around the state to have more seminars like these.

About 150 people showed up to the event. No word on when or where the next seminar will be.
