This week, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced two grants totaling $775,000 will be awarded to the Shreveport Airport Authority. The grants will provide federal funding for the Shreveport Regional Airport associated with Shreveport, Louisiana. One grant ($520,000) will be used to fund the design for an 800 foot runway extension to allow Runway 6/24 to meet the operational needs of the airport. The other grant ($275,000) will be used to update the existing airport master plan study to show current and future needs of the airport. Rep.
