Congressman and senators join President Trump as he visits Louisiana

U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) and Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy joined President Trump on Air Force One Tuesday as they headed to tour a LNG facility.

Sempra Energy’s Cameron Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Export Facility in Hackberry gave President Trump and the officials a chance to survey three liquefied natural gas storage tanks, an export-ready operational natural gas liquefaction plant and the construction progress of two natural gas liquefaction plants.

“Since President Trump took office and made energy dominance a top priority of his administration, domestic energy production in the U.S. has soared, and the industry has experienced an economic boom. Thanks, in large part, to operations in Louisiana, we now have the ability to use our own resources rather than depending on hostile foreign nations to meet the demands of American industries and consumers,” Johnson said in a statement.

“The administration’s focus on promoting pro-growth policies, coupled with deregulation efforts passed in the last Congress, has allowed businesses in the energy sector to create, invest and grow – leading to increased innovation and thousands of good-paying jobs in our state and across the nation. These extraordinary results are a prime example of what can be achieved when we unleash the power of the free market,” he added.

“President Trump’s goal that the United States be energy dominant has been great for Louisiana workers,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Billions of dollars in investment and energy innovation in Louisiana has created thousands of good-paying jobs across our state.”
