Special Report: Religious Freedom DayFamily Research Council
Washington, DC,
January 22, 2019
Tomorrow, America is celebrating the 233rd birthday of one of the most significant pieces of legislation ever passed: the Virginia Statute on Religious Freedom. The building block of our First Amendment, Thomas Jefferson was so proud of writing it that he had it inscribed on his tombstone. If it weren't for his defense of liberty, our Constitution might have had a far different framework. This Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. (ET), FRC is honoring the heroes who lit this torch -- and applauding the leaders committed to keeping it going. You can join us for a special edition of "Washington Watch," featuring Congressman Mike Johnson (R-La.), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), author Os Guinness, and other guests, as we highlight Religious Freedom Day -- and why it matters here and abroad. Tune in on FRC's Facebook page or TonyPerkins.com for an hour-long look at the state of our most important liberties! |
