Johnson Bill Supporting Israel Passes House in NDAA

Johnson Applauds House passage of National Defense Authorization Bill

On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) by a vote of 351 to 66. The bill includes major legislation introduced by Reps. Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Charlie Crist (D-Fla.) establishing a strategic partnership between the United States and Israel to combat drone attacks from Iran and other adversaries.

Additional NDAA highlights include a 2.6 percent pay raise for our troops, critical investments in missile defense and nuclear deterrents, and funding for co-development and co-production of missile defense and weapon systems with our key ally Israel.

Rep. Johnson released the following statement:

"Providing for a robust and capable military is key to maintaining peace around the world. This NDAA supports our troops by providing them with the tools necessary to successfully carry out their missions. It also better positions the U.S. in aiding our allies around the globe to ensure stability on the world stage. I am honored to have my bill included in this critical legislation and hope the Senate will also recognize its importance as they move through negotiations."
