Rep. Johnson Slams Court Ruling Blocking Trump’s Order on Sanctuary Cities
Washington, DC,
April 25, 2017
On Tuesday, a federal judge in San Francisco blocked President Trump’s executive order to withhold funding from sanctuary cities. Rep. Johnson released the following statement: “Sanctuary cities are blatantly violating our laws and making our cities more dangerous by allowing illegal immigrants, and in many cases dangerous criminals, to roam freely without fear of prosecution. The president’s constitutional duty is to faithfully execute our laws, and he is well within his authority to withhold funding from these cities. I am deeply disappointed with the court’s decision to allow these illegal actions to continue and hope the administration will appeal this ruling.” |
