Rep. Johnson Discusses Energy Policy with President Trump at White House
Washington, DC,
April 28, 2017
On Friday, Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) joined President Donald Trump at the White House for the signing of his executive order directing the Secretary of the Interior to reopen significant portions of our vast offshore acreage for responsible energy exploration and development to foster job creation and energy independence. After the signing, President Trump invited Johnson and a small group of other members of Congress to meet with him in the Oval Office for a policy discussion. Rep. Johnson released the following statement: “I am proud to support President Trump's efforts to make America's energy independence one of our top priorities. Utilizing the extensive amounts of natural resources God has given our nation will not only create jobs and foster economic growth, it will better position our nation on the world stage. It was recently discovered that Louisiana’s Fourth Congressional District is home to the largest natural gas resource formation in the entire country. I look forward to advancing the president’s America-First energy strategy and to positioning Louisiana as a critical component of that plan.” |
