Shreveport Air Authority Receives $775,000 in Grants

This week, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced two grants totaling $775,000 will be awarded to the Shreveport Airport Authority. The grants will provide federal funding for the Shreveport Regional Airport associated with Shreveport, Louisiana. One grant ($520,000) will be used to fund the design for an 800 foot runway extension to allow Runway 6/24 to meet the operational needs of the airport. The other grant ($275,000) will be used to update the existing airport master plan study to show current and future needs of the airport. Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) released the following statement: “Our region is growing rapidly, each and every day. This grant will only increase that momentum and bring further recognition to Northwest Louisiana. I am thankful for the investment in our community and look forward to the many great things to come for our area.” |
