South Toledo Bend Water District Awarded $150,000 Grant
Washington, DC,
November 8, 2017
The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the South Toledo Bend Water District in Sabine Parish would receive a rural development grant totaling $150,000. The grant will provide federal funding to replace a previously failed hydro-pneumatic tank that caused drinking water shortages for over 2,900 residents in our district. The project is funded through the Persistent Poverty Initiative for fiscal year 2017. Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) released the following statement: “Ensuring Louisiana residents have access to drinkable water is vital, particularly in rural parts of the state. In Congress, I have promoted initiatives to strengthen our rural communities and am pleased to see the USDA invest in Louisiana.” |
