Rep. Johnson Votes to Protect Second Amendment
Washington, DC,
November 30, 2017
Late Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee passed H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, out of committee. This bill amends the federal criminal code to allow an individual with a concealed carry permit in one state to carry a firearm in another concealed carry state, so long as the individual adheres to the laws of that state. Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) is a cosponsor. Johnson released the following statement: “The constitutional right to keep and bear arms should not be confined by state lines. Our legislation ensures that law-abiding citizens who obtain a concealed carry permit are not denied their rights when traveling to other states. I am a concealed carry permit holder myself and will continue to support measures in Congress that preserve the Second Amendment.” |
