Entergy Louisiana to Lower Rates Because of Tax Reform
Washington, DC,
April 19, 2018
Today, Entergy Louisiana announced rate reductions for customers in Louisiana beginning next month. The company cited $210 million in federal tax reform-related savings as the impetus for the first scheduled set of reductions. Of those savings, $105 million will be returned to customers over the next eight months and the remainder will be returned over the next four years. A second reduction is scheduled for September 2018. Additionally, Entergy plans on using their new annual tax savings of approximately $130 million to offset costs of upgrading infrastructure. Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) released the following statement: "The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act continues to deliver for Louisiana families and hard-working Americans all across the nation. I am pleased to see Entergy passing their new-found savings along to consumers. These are real benefits for real people that will help a countless number of our constituents. We look forward to hearing more and more success stories created by this historic reform.” |
