Johnson Receives “Hero of Main Street” Award

 Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) was recognized as a “Hero of Main Street” by theNational Retail Federation today for consistently supporting public policy priorities important to the retail industry and its millions of small businesses.

Rep. Johnson released the following statement:

"Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I work hard in Congress to ensure our laws support their growth and prosperity. The pro-business policies put in place by the 115th Congress and the administration have led to an economic boom, and mom-and-pop shops all across the United States are seeing the difference. I am honored to be recognized as a ‘Hero of Main Street’ and will continue to champion efforts in Congress that benefit our small businesses.”

BACKGROUND

The Hero of Main Street Award was created by NRF in 2013, and eligibility is based on key votes, bill sponsorship and advocacy to advance retailers’ priorities. Recipients have supported policies that recognize the contributions of the retail industry and have worked to encourage a “vibrant, sustained and healthy” retail sector.
