Washington, DC,
September 13, 2018
This week, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced the Shreveport Airport Authority will receive two grants totaling $16,132,575. A $6,997,075 grant will be awarded to the Shreveport Downtown Airport and a $9,135,500 grant will be awarded to the Shreveport Regional Airport. Both grants will provide federal funding to extend runways and meet the operational needs of the airports. Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) released the following statement: "This is a huge investment in our airports and in our community. Maintaining and improving air travel operations in Shreveport is critical to the economy of our entire region. Since coming to Congress, I have continued to impress upon my colleagues the important contributions of Louisiana's Fourth District and to advocate for additional funding for our area. I am proud to see those efforts come to fruition yet again." |
