Johnson Receives Nfib Guardian of Small Business Award
Washington, DC,
September 27, 2018
This week, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) awarded Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) the Guardian of Small Business Award for his support of small businesses throughout the 115th Congress. Rep. Johnson released the following statement: "I am honored to be recognized as an NFIB Guardian of Small Business. Because our mom-and-pop shops are the backbone of our economy, I have worked hard to support them in Congress. In addition to passing a massive tax overhaul, we have been successful in passing pro-business measures and removing excessive and burdensome government regulation. These actions have paved the way for record-breaking growth and put Main Street back in business.” NFIB President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan released the following statement: "The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to members of Congress who truly vote as champions of small business. Those who earn this recognition in the House of Representatives have been staunch supporters on the issues that are crucial to the success of small business, like tax cuts, regulatory reform and lower healthcare costs. They are the representatives small business owners can count on as advocates in Washington, and we’re proud to award these lawmakers the recognition they earned for the 115th Congress.” Background NFIB’S Guardian of Small Business Award is the organization’s most prestigious legislative award. It is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with small businesses on key issues identified by small business owners. |
