 U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today joined several of his Republican colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee in sending a letter to Chairman Jerry Nadler (NY-10) criticizing the committee’s failure to address “real problems affecting real Americans” while indulging “Committee Democrats’ obsession with impeaching the president and undoing the 2016 election.” The letter states:

“Thus far during the 116th Congress, this Committee — and the Democratic House as a whole — have utterly failed in their duty to the American people. This has happened because Democrats, beholden to a radical base, are determined to impeach the president, no matter the cost and by any means necessary. This irresponsible, reckless behavior threatens to undermine the very credibility of this House.
 
“Committee Republicans stand ready to work with you to address the above challenges. However, should you continue to pursue this ‘impeachment inquiry,’ and do so without regard for the fundamentally American principles of fairness and due process, we will resist vigorously. Our constituents deserve no less.”
