Johnson Applauds Trump Administration’s Stand for Religious Freedom

U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today applauded the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce onerous, Obama-era regulations on religious organizations. In honor of National Religious Freedom Day, the White House announced nine federal agencies released proposed rules that would level the playing field for religious groups competing for federal funds and further protect prayer in public schools.

“We are blessed to live in a country that safeguards the religious liberties of all Americans,” said Johnson. “Unfortunately, under previous administrations, those protections have been eroded, and the very Constitutional provisions that have ensured religious freedom have been weaponized and used against people of faith. I’m proud to stand alongside President Trump as he fulfills his promise to reverse this dangerous precedent and prevent government interference in our fundamental freedoms.”
