This is a season that will never be forgotten! Congratulations to Coach O, Joe Burrow and everyone involved with this amazing program. No one with Louisiana blood in their veins will ever forget the 2019 LSU football team, their magical season, and the record-breaking team accomplishments on the field that made it possible,” said Graves.“With this resolution, we’re ensuring that the Congressional Record – American History – never forgets either. Geaux Tigers!” “Congratulations to the LSU football team for winning the 2020 College Football National Championship following their perfect, record-breaking season! Led by Louisiana-native Coach Ed Orgeron and the 2019 Heisman Trophy Winner, Joe Burrow, the LSU Tigers displayed determination and excellence throughout this entire historic season. They have staked their claim as one of the all-time best teams in the history of college football and have made the entire state of Louisiana very proud,” said House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (LA-01) “I’m proud to congressionally recognize the LSU Football Tigers, Coach O, team staff, and their families for their victory in the National Championship game,” said U.S. Representative Cedric Richmond (LA-02). “This victory was felt by all Louisiana residents, and it’s more than fitting to honor their impeccable season and championship win. I remember when Grant Delpit was my first bat boy at the congressional baseball game, and to see what he and his teammates have accomplished makes me proud to know him. Congratulations to the real Tigers.” “My wife and I both attended LSU and we couldn’t be prouder of our football team winning its fourth national championship with an undefeated record of 15-0. Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow led the Fighting Tigers to score 726 points this season, which is the most in over 80 years, and threw a record 60 touchdowns. Our state leads the nation in so many ways - from oil and gas to seafood, agriculture, and forestry - and we know the best is yet to come. Geaux Tigers!” said U.S. Representative Ralph Abraham, M.D (LA-05) “Congratulations to Coach Orgeron, the 2019 LSU Tigers, and all of Tiger Nation.
