U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $548,000 to complete the construction of a 275 foot taxiway at Leesville Airport. This will eliminate the need for aircraft to back-taxi on the runway.

“This award is critical to improving the infrastructure at Leesville Airport, which will provide for even greater safety of travelers – our number one priority. I thank Secretary Chao for her commitment to small, rural communities and for approving the necessary funds so that Leesville Airport can complete this important project,” said Johnson.
