U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today announced that the Department of Justice has awarded the Caddo Parish School Board over $749,000 to support efforts to reduce violence and crime in schools. This funding, administered through the Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Program, can be used to train school personnel and educate students on preventing student violence against others and themselves, including anti-bullying training and response to mental health crises. "I’m pleased to see this strong investment being made to help protect students and faculty in Caddo Parish. The funding will go a long way in strengthening schools’ efforts to be prepared and to prevent school violence. I’m grateful that the Trump Administration and Attorney General William Barr have made the safety of our children a priority, ” said Johnson. |
