BOSSIER CITY, La. – U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04), a member of President Trump’s Task Force for Reopening America’s Economy, today announced $200,000 job-training grant to Southern University at Shreveport Louisiana (SUSLA). The award, administered through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), will be used by SUSLA to recruit and train unemployed and underemployed Shreveport residents for environmental careers. “The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on Louisiana. Because many Louisianians have lost their jobs and businesses have permanently closed, we need new job opportunities now more than ever,” said Johnson. “This award for SUSLA will help and could not have come at a better time. I applaud the Trump administration and the EPA for their dedication to fostering job growth in our community and region.” |
