Johnson Announces $400,000 in Covid-19 Recovery Aid for Shreveport

Bossier City, La. – U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today announced that the Coordinating and Development Corporation of Shreveport is receiving $400,000 in coronavirus recovery aid. This grant, authorized under the CARES Act and administered by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), will be used to support economic recovery efforts in the region.

“Ensuring communities have the resources they need to enact pro-growth policies in the wake of the pandemic is critically important to putting our nation on the path towards recovery. This investment being made in the Coordinating and Development Corporation will help support efforts to reverse the economic damage COVID-19 has had in Shreveport. I want to thank the EDA and the rest of the Trump administration for their dedication to creating jobs and reigniting our economy.”

Background:

  • The CARES Act provided the EDA with $1.5 billion for economic development assistance programs like the Coordinating and Development Corporation of Shreveport, to help respond to coronavirus. Congressman Johnson supported the CARES Act when brought to the House Floor on March 27, and was signed into law by President Trump later that day.
