WASHINGTON, December 8, 2021 — United States Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today announced that the Shreveport Police Department, in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Louisiana, will receive a $150,551 Project Safe Neighborhood grant to increase the identification and prosecution of violent criminals. “The scourge of violent crime has impacted nearly every community in America in 2021 including right in Shreveport,” Johnson said. “These federal dollars will make a difference in increasing collaboration across all levels of law enforcement.” The Department of Justice Project Safe Neighborhood program initiates collaboration between federal, state, local, and tribal jurisdictions to identify the most pressing violent crime issues in a community and allocates federal funds to help prosecute and jail these criminals.
