WASHINGTON — Speaker Johnson, along with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), recognized Jodi Burns as a 2024 Angels in Adoption Honoree for her work as the director of Heart of Hope, an organization and sanctuary in northwest Louisiana for young women experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Every year, members of Congress nominate an individual, family, or organization to be recognized for demonstrating a commitment to improving the lives of children in need of permanent, loving homes. Speaker Johnson nominated Mrs. Burns, who through her organization and outreach, has fostered a culture of life in North Louisiana and positively impacted the lives of countless women, unborn children, and their families. “For the last 14 years at Heart of Hope, Jodi Burns has humbly dedicated her life to providing a loving and caring sanctuary for young women facing unplanned pregnancies. Under Jodi’s faithful leadership, Heart of Hope has transformed the lives of countless young women by offering prayer, community, support services and prenatal care,” Speaker Johnson said. “Heart of Hope paves the way for mothers to bring new life into the world, whether through parenting or adoption, and provides young women a path back to normal life. I am so honored to recognize Jodi as our 2024 Angel in Adoption.” Background: Since 1999, CCAI’s Angels in Adoption program has upheld a tradition of celebrating the extraordinary efforts of individuals, couples, families, and organizations who work tirelessly to advocate for children in need of a family.
